Candied Grapefruit Peels


We didn't want any of the delicious grapefruit to go to waste this year, so we decided to try making candied grapefruit peels.

The results were soooo yummy!  Sweet and a tiny bit bitter with a lovely grapefruit flavor.

Ran is helping out by slicing down the grapefruit peels for me.

Ran kept the knife super sharp to slice out all the pith/white membrane.

I think his ultra fine separation of pith/white membrane from peel, plus the boiling and changing of water kept the peels from being too bitter.
